The 2rd Theme: Aspirations and Dreams

In every sunrise and sunset, every city and village, and in every heart, there are dreams and hopes.

Living in an era with dreams is fortunate; without dreams, it is tragic. What dreams does this era possess or lack? Dreams can be unattainable, persistent, and require risk and sacrifice. Whether it’s world peace or personal goals, returning home or exploring the universe, dreams have various dimensions.

Can dreams be articulated and tested? Is the journey to achieve dreams a struggle, torment, or a sign of great perseverance? Are dreams illusions, and what happens when they are shattered or realized?

Is the dream greater than reality, or can reality surpass dreams? Dreams involve initiators, followers, benefactors, opponents, destroyers, and bystanders. They encompass Eastern aspirations and Western ideals. Even ordinary, day-to-day lives can be dreams.

Documenting is in the present or past tense, dreaming is continuous or future tense. Are they in conflict? In 2008, “One World, One Dream” will resonate globally. Let us use documentaries to chart the dreams and hopes of Chinese people, recording and witnessing the greatness, bravery, pursuit, innovation, and resilience inspired by dreams.
