The Director in Focus screening program ( 「焦點影人」年度巡展) took place from September 2017 to June 2018.
CNEX always aim to promote the best Chinese documentary films to the public. Therefore, the theme screening programme we organized for every year were aim to build the culture of documentary films in Hong Kong.
In this Director in Focus screening event, we focused on the documentary film directors. The event took place on these months :

This screening event have divided into 2 parts, and took place for 2 days on each month. In the event, there were totally 12 times screening events, 6 times of “Focused Filmmakers post-screening Talk” events, and 6 times of “The Salon of Exploration” events.
The first part was named “Focused Filmmakers post-screening Talk”. CNEX have invited 6 documentary film directors from Hong Kong, Mainland China and Taiwan to join this event, and selected 2 documentary films for the screening event. Also, in the post-screening talk , the directors disclosed their thoughts and interesting facts when making the film to the audiences.
The second part of the event was “The Salon of Exploration”. The director will discuss with the moderators and audiences about the major topic of their film. Most of the moderators were specialists in culture studies and the film industry. Therefore, this event was a channel of dialogue in between different spectrums, and a good place to appreciate the documentary films.
