The Youth and Citizenship : CNEX Documentary Screening Tour<\/em> (\u9752\u6625\u6709\u70ba:CNEX \u4e3b\u984c\u7d00\u9304\u7247\u5de1\u5c55) took place from September 2013 to June 2014.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Youth is like a bird that sets off from the treetops into the <\/em><\/strong>open sky.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\nFor the bird, it’s the search for a home but also the <\/em><\/strong>uncertainty of the future; it’s the riddance of hesitation<\/em><\/strong>
\nfor the hunger for navigation; it’s trial\u2013and\u2013error for the <\/em><\/strong>pursuit of eternity; it’s the experience of self but also the <\/em><\/strong>baptism of a generation.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\nThis year, CNEX turns its focus to “youth”\u2013 not only <\/em><\/strong>“youth,” but rather the continuous exploration between<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0youth and maturity, volatility and stability, individuality<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0and collectivity. We have chosen to promote this theme<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0because we have realized that a brand new Chinese society<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0will emerge from the new generation.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\n\u00a0Today’s youth was born into the wealthiest Chinese society<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0since modern times and an era of unprecedented openness.<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0They were born in an era of globalization, interconnection<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0and internet exchange; they were born in an era immersed<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0in images rather than text; they were born in an era that<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0expends its youth in Otaku manners, as “Strawberry”<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0and “Moonlight” types, “Ant\u2013izens”, and on World of<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0Warcraft; they were born in an era that faces weakening<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0industrialization, over\u2013indulged financial games and the<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0crisis of global warming. They have no need for the 20th\u2013<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0century passion to revolutionize, but the responsibility of<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0pushing society, and in fact, the world, forward, that comes<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0with one’s citizenship.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\nCNEX would like to investigate the young generation of<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0Chinese around the world as they leave the college campus,<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0establish a family, wander through the city or return<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0to hometowns, rent or buy apartments, pursue dreams<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0or confront reality, and encounter various educational,<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0medical, parental situations within their community<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0 family, or village. As this generation begins to play an<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0active role as a member of society, negotiating between<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0purity and maturity, individuality and collectivity, tradition<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0and future, what kind of social citizen will they become in<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0the new era? And what kind of civil society will they then<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0create thereafter?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

CNEX had chosen 30 documentary films and organized screening events at the Universities and the community organizations.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The theme of The Youth and Citizenship : CNEX Documentary Screening Tour<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0have divided into 4 parts, including :<\/p>\n
